This is my 8th year in the English Department at Chesapeake College. Before starting my job here, I studied overseas in England and Scotland for five years, earning my Master's Degree in English/Women's Studies from the University of Oxford and my Ph.D. in Literary/Cultural Studies from the University of Sussex. My doctoral thesis, which is on the representation of conjoined twins in contemporary literature and culture, has led me to discover other areas of interest such as gender & sexuality, disability studies, representation, documentary & film. I will likely be starting a second Master's degree in Bioethics NEXT FALL. I'm nuts, I know.
In my spare time, I like to travel, and I usually live overseas during the summers. This past summer, I spent a couple of weeks in England and took various trips--including ones to St Ives and Amsterdam. Next summer, I will likely live in Vienna, Austria for a while. I also LOVE playing online, and I am addicted to Pinterest. The best news of all is that I recently adopted a puppy, and he is the joy of my life!
If you're interested in my academic work (medical humanities, sexuality and gender, conjoined twins, literature...to name a few), you can find me on Twitter: https://twitter.com/DrSherriFoster
More importantly than anything you've read so far (other than the puppy news), I am addicted to 'grande, soy, no foam, no water, extra hot OPRAH chai lattes' from Starbucks.
