About the Honors Program at Chesapeake College
The Honors program mission is to develop exceptional teaching and learning experiences at Chesapeake College. Honors program courses and events offer a variety of opportunities for students and faculty to interact with and learn from one another. The purpose is to assist students in engaging more fully, not only with course material, but with their fellow students, faculty mentors, and the local community.
Through experiential course projects, off-campus retreats and travel to national conferences, our program seeks to provide engaging, fun, and relevant learning experiences that will equip our students to succeed at Chesapeake and beyond. A primary focus of our program is equipping students to research and successfully apply to four-year schools while securing scholarship dollars to help fund their education.
Students completing five honors classes during their time at Chesapeake are considered to have completed our honors program and receive special recognition at graduation. If you’d like to talk with someone to learn more about the program, contact a member of the Honors Council.
